If you had the opportunity to study the teachings of one of the master thinkers, would you take it? If that opportunity allowed you to share ideas, goals, and challenges and develop relationships with like-minded leaders and individuals, would you take it? Friday Night at the Movies ~ "Visions of a Universal Humanity"
Friday, March 12, 2010, 6:00 PM
Enjoy a tasty dinner, followed by the film “Visions of a Universal Humanity” and a discussion led by Revs. Judith Churchman and Bob Luckin.
“Visions” touches the ‘transcendent yearnings’ of life itself within us; life that when it hits a limit to its own growth either goes extinct or innovates and transforms itself as it repeatedly has done during our great 14 billion year tradition. In “Visions,” futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard brings together some of the greatest minds of our time to reveal the potential for the next stage of human evolution, the next turn on the spiral of ‘Our Story.’ “Visions” will take us across the ‘evolutionary gap’ from here — a warring, polluting, over-populating species on the brink of self destruction, to there — a co-creative, universal humanity at the dawn of the first Universal Age of Conscious Evolution, a future filled with infinite possibilities.
For those who pay in advance to be assured of dinner, please arrive by 6:00 PM. The movie starts at 7:00 PM.

Presenter: Revs. Judith Churchman and Bob Luckin
Cost: $10 per Person for Dinner; Pre-Registration/Payment for Dinner REQUIRED!

Sunday, March 14, 2010, 12:00 Noon
The book selected for our March 14th meeting at 12:00 Noon in the Practitioners' Room is “The Breakdown Lane” by Jaquelyn Mitchard. In it, an advice columnist’s life presents her with situations more perplexing than the letters from strangers that she answers in the newspaper. Three children, a missing husband, onset of a dread disease and the ensuing emotional turmoil are met in surprising ways. Read the book and join us for a rousing discussion. Call Linda Aldrich at 223-5341 for more information.

ˆBack to Top"You and Your Desires" Workshop
with Terry McBride
Sunday, March 28 & Monday, March 29, 2010, 6:30 to 9:30 PM
You have the Power and the Authority to create what you want.
And any idea other than that is a lie claiming to be the truth.
Bring a friend and come hear Terry McBride speak on March 28, 2010, at our 10:30 AM Sunday celebration. His topic will be “The Joy and Wonder of Choice.”
There are many paths, many great teachers, many great spiritual disciplines that can lead you to “knowing the truth that sets you free.” What path would you like to take? As Ernest Holmes states over and over again, “Our perspective should cause us to know that when we work, we should work definitely for what we want.” He continues and says, “Therefore you may know that everything you do, say or think carries with it Divine Authority.” One of the many things I admire about the teachings of the Science of Mind is that we believe there are many paths to one’s spiritual awakening. Sometimes these paths seem to be in conflict with one another and I believe they are. Learning to go with the flow is not the same game as learning how to change the course of the river. Accepting your human limitations is not the same as understanding that you are unlimited. Giving up your ego-centered desires is not the same as making your dreams and desires a reality.
On Sunday and Monday evenings March 28 and 29, 2010, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, Terry will lead a workshop that will transform your understanding of choice and how you can use it to create what you want. Imagine how you would feel if you were on track creating your heart’s desires. Sunday evening will leave you with a sense of the freedom and joy in knowing your “Divine Authority.” Monday evening will give you the tools to stay on track as you create the reality you desire. Remember, Jesus said, “All things are possible if you believe they are.” Decide now to step up and take charge of your life! Download the flyer.

The Players Present
"The Dining Room" Stage Play
Volunteer Opportunities - The play opens on Friday, April 11, 2010
We have cast some very talented actors for our upcoming production of “The Dining Room” by A. R. Gurney. Our very own Adrienne Cowling from the Rolling Crones and the HeartSangha choir; Karen and Brian Crum, Karen having appeared in a production of “You Can’t Take It With You” and Brain Crum in Redding’s Improv group; Marilyn Robrahn who starred as Weezer in a local production of “Steele Magnolias.” We are growing and are currently creating a Theatre Seva Team. It takes many colors to paint the canvas of creativity. The following volunteer positions are available. Assistant Director: The assistant director is there to assist the director in getting the production up and running and acts as a creative tool to help things move along on schedule.
Stage Manager: The stage manager is a crucial member of the team in a theatrical production. Stage managers supervise the backstage crew while also ensuring that the needs of the cast are met. A good stage manager keeps things running smoothly, and he or she is prepared to deal with a wide range of situations, from an actor who is missing in action, to a damaged light board.
Costumer: Charged with the execution of the costumes to the specifications of the production.
Prop Master: Properties which include set decoration and dressing, furniture and hand props used by the actors.
Light Design: A collaborative member of the design team and artistic staff, he or she designs the lighting for the production including instrument placement, color, cue structure and light levels.
Sound Design: Collaborates with the director and other design staff in the formulation of the aural environment.

"The Dining Room" Stage Play
Friday & Saturday, April 9, 10, 16, 17, 2010, 7:30 PM
Sunday, April 11, 18, 2010, 3:30 PM
The Dining Room is a play by the American playwright A. R. Gurney. The play is set in the dining room of a typical well-to-do household, the place where the family assembled daily for breakfast and dinner and for any and all special occasions. The action is a mosaic of interrelated scenes, some funny, some touching, some rueful. Each vignette introduces a new set of people and events. Dovetailing swiftly and smoothly, the varied scenes coalesce ultimately into a theatrical experience of exceptional range, compassionate humor and abundant humanity.

Seva Faire
Sunday, April 11, 2010, Before and After Both Services
Join us for the Seva Faire! At the Faire, you can meet seva team leaders/captains, ask questions about what each seva team does and join the teams that you are most interested in. Seva literally means selfless service, work performed with an attitude of non-doership, without personal attachment to the outcome. Seva is more than volunteering your time and talents to help and support the Center or the community; it is a spiritual practice. Performing our actions in the world in the consciousness of Seva allows us to watch our mind and to have insights into the beliefs and attitudes that are the causes for our experience. Perhaps the greatest benefit of Seva is the experience of Grace, the intimate experience of the Divine Presence within us as we offer the best of ourselves to this world and to God.
