Board of Trustees
The Center for Spiritual Living - Redding's mission is to create an inclusive spiritual community dedicated to teaching the Science of Mind and assisting each individual who attends the center in growing, learning and healing through the application of spiritual principles.
The Center for Spiritual Living - Redding is a nonprofit organization, a member and affiliate spiritual community of the International Centers for Spiritual Living, formerly known as Religious Science International (link to ICSL/RSI). July 30, 2008 Religious Science International changed their name to International Centers for Spiritual Living at its 2008 Congressional Meeting.
As a nonprofit organization, the Center for Spiritual Living - Redding operates under the direction of a board of trustees which meets on a monthly basis. The board is responsible for the oversight and operation of the organization and those elected to serve as board trustees must meet qualifying criteria and maintain a standard of expected service while in service to the board. The term of service for a board trustee is three years with officers serving a maximum term of one year in office during their tenure on the board. Each officer of the board has specified tasks and assignments which benefit and support the operation of the Center for Spiritual Living - Redding. There are also specific qualifications and guidelines for serving on the board. To download additional information about serving on the board, please click here.
Board meetings are held the fourth Friday of each month at 5:30 PM at the Center for Spiritual Living - Redding.

Center for Spiritual Living - Redding Board Members:
Sandy Babcock
moved to the Redding area from Southern California in June of 2003 and has been a member of the Center for Spiritual Living ever since. She has been on several SEVA teams in her years at the Center, including Landscape and the HeartSangha Choir. She launched the Health Ministry program at the Center in January 2007 with a “Walk Around the World” project that got people walking and hiking all over Shasta County. Sandy has been a registered nurse since 1993 and has worked in the ER, orthopedics, medical/surgical units and most recently is a Certified Case Manager. In 2006 Sandy became a Faith Community Nurse, also known as a Parish Nurse, after completing the necessary training with the Northern California Faith Community Nurses (NCFCN). She now serves as Co-Coordinator for NCFCN and is the Team Leader for the First Aid teams at the City of Redding’s annual Creek Clean Up held in October which involves over 500 community volunteers who remove trash and invasive, non-native vegetation from our waterways.
In leading the Health Ministry team at the Center, Sandy is committed to providing support and guidance for those who are experiencing health challenges. Navigating the healthcare system can be confusing at times, especially if you aren’t feeling well. Sandy helps smooth the way with her knowledge of complex health issues and current modalities of treatment. In knowing that at times the healing process for a person may involve modalities other than Western medicine protocols, Sandy helped bring about the Healing Arts Cottage at the Center where anyone can go for a healing session with licensed professionals who provide massage, Healing Touch, Reiki and many other soul-soothing and supporting modalities to help them reconnect with their own innate healing process.

They have three daughters and four grandchildren. Pam is an elementary school teacher. She enjoys reading, kayaking, biking, and soaking up the sun at the ocean.

The Center for Spiritual Living is a very special place for her, as this community creates space for each of us to appreciate and be the magnificent beings that we are. What Is a Practitioner?
A Religious Science Practitioner is a person of high spiritual consciousness and deep understanding who is trained in the art, science, and skill of Spiritual Mind Treatment. A Practitioner is licensed to practice professionally, is bound by a high code of ethics to respect your confidence, and is dedicated to the cause of helping others.
Licensed Practitioners have completed a minimum of three years of training and one year of internship. Intern Practitioners have completed a minimum of three years of training and are currently in their internship program.
With God all things are possible. Therefore, whatever the challenge or desire for change in our lives, there is always an answer, a way to move into a new experience. A Practitioner can help you reach a new level of faith and conviction in the limitless creative power of Spirit.
Behind every condition is a belief.
If you can change the belief,
you can change the condition.
No matter what the question, there is an answer. A Practitioner works with you to understand your current condition. Then he or she uses conviction and faith in the Divine Presence to reach a realization about you, and the specific changes in belief and attitude required for a new demonstration to occur.
How Do I Know if I Need the Services of a Practitioner?
Ask yourself the following questions:
· Am I too close to my own problem to see the situation clearly?
· Do I feel that something is blocking that which I am seeking?
· Do I feel that I lack the experience with, the training in, or the understanding of the principles necessary to resolve the difficulty?
If the answer to these questions is "yes," then you may benefit from the services of a Practitioner.
A booklet has been published to assist and inform those who desire to bring about a change for good in their lives and want to explore the use of a professional Practitioner to help reach that goal. Feel free to pick up a copy of "We Are Here For You" at the information table in the Center for Spiritual Living - Redding.
How Much Do Practitioner Services Cost?
The healing branch of our church, which includes the Ministers and Practitioners, offers services on a voluntary contribution basis. This includes both counseling from the Ministers and Spiritual Mind Treatment (Affirmative Prayer) from the Practitioner Staff. This gift, is offered in the spirit of Dana, a Pali term meaning "gifts offered to the spiritual institution or teacher that has helped."
The money donated as Dana is used to replenish our continuing education fund, which in turn allows our Ministers, Practitioners, advisors and teachers to continue their training in service to the church.
$35 Treatment
$50 Counseling
Fees for Ministerial Counseling and Practitioner Fees
We thank you for your donations in the spirit of Dana.
