This six-week class is an introduction for students new to watercolor painting and as a review for others. Curriculum for Session I (II and III will follow) includes: guidelines for choosing materials; pigment properties and characteristics; setting up a palette; practicing basic application and developing painting skills. Classroom demonstrations along with painting templates and studies will be provided for simple still life and florals. We will apply the five essentials of the ancient philosophical framework of the Tao Te Ching: centering, deliberateness, playfulness, balance and flow to our practices. This class invites you to discover the unique creativity inherent within you, where there is no judgement, only delight in the creative journey. The class is limited to 10 students and early registration is recommended. A guide for student materials can be obtained at the time of registration and a thorough review of materials will be covered at the first class. For guidance in purchasing supplies prior to class, please contact the instructor at firstname.lastname@example.org. Download the flyer. Download the supplies list.
