Session III for beginners requires completion of Session I or II or previous watercolor introduction. This curriculum is a continuation of study, demonstration and practice of the basic techniques of watercolor painting. Emphasis will be placed on producing simple compositions in still life, further developing painting skills, choosing and mixing hues, applying value schemes and the rules of perspective. Personal assistance is provided to students to create and complete fresh, spontaneous paintings during the class period. Inspiration from the Tao Te Ching and other philosophical principles will aid in creating an atmosphere of centeredness, presence, acceptance and playfulness to our practice. Early registration is recommended as class is limited to ten students. For other questions, contact the teacher at firstname.lastname@example.org. Student materials are the same as Session I with the addition of pigments: sap green, yellow ochre, burnt umber or sepia and burnt sienna. Download the flyer.
