MINISTER’S MESSAGE
Being a Beacon of Light
“In winter, when the green earth lies resting beneath a blanket of snow, this is the time for storytelling. The storytellers begin by calling upon those who came before who passed the stories down to us, for we are only messengers.” ~~ Robin Wall Kimmerer
Everyone has a story to tell. The wisdom of the indigenous people has been passed on to us through story. Braiding Sweetgrass…Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants” by Robin Wall Kimmerer reveals through stories the wisdom messages for the month that share views we rarely contemplate. I encourage you to take time getting to know whatnature itself reveals to us. Ultimately, plants and animals are our oldest teachers. Our ministerial messengers this month will be highlighting their understandings of Mother Nature and our Divine Nature. Every story shapes a new understanding.
Also, this month we focus on the gratitude of abundance in our lives. Prosperity, as it is revealed in financial good ,is important to us all. We save, we spend, we receive, we give... the cycle of our good continues to sustain us. Our Center has been referenced by many as a beacon of Light in our community. It is your financial gifts that sustain the Center. The support comes only from you. Many offer their time and talent to be part of the energy that keeps our Light shining brightly. Whether you visit us online or in person, whether you watch on Facebook or YouTube Live or listen to the podcast, whether you come to a support group, a book club, or Yoga class, we invite you all to consider a monetary commitment for 2026 to help us stay even with the rising costs of running a nonprofit organization. Our mission continues to be about “inspiring and empowering people to live spiritually fulfilling lives”.
Consider carefully how you can help us thrive in 2026 and keep the Light shining brightly.
With respect and love, Rev. Sue
