Spiritual Development Class
Presented by Cher Matthews and Rev. Sue MillerBorn
Thursdays in the Social Hall
$40.00 in Advance or $12.00 per Class Meeting

We are excited to present to you the wisdom of tapping into your vital energy.  We will explore the brilliance of Bright Line Eating:  The Science of Living Happy by Dr. Susan Peirce Thompson and the valuable insights of Dr. David Simon in his work with vital energy.  We each understand our source of good.  We also recognize the times that we feel out of balance and snagged by old habits that pull us back again and again.  This series will share information about the brain’s influence in blocking our best intentions.  We will explore addictive patterns and cravings.  Also, we will tap into our nature and discover what is the best plan for us to always find harmony with what we take in and how we move in life.  This class will be an enthusiastic approach to healthy living.  We ask that you purchase your book online and if you use Amazon, please mention Center for Spiritual Living, Redding, as your preferred donation.  The book is Bright Line Eating:  The Science of Living Happy, Thin, and Free by Susan Peirce Thompson, Ph.D.  Download the flyer.

The Pathway of Roses: Human Nature Becoming Divine Nature

Spiritual Development Class with Diana Johnson, RScP
MONDAYS in the Meditation Pavilion

Christian D. Larson was one of Ernest Holmes’ least-heard-of but very influential teachers.  Through his profound words, he shows the reader how to apply the principles of Truth to everyday life in a way that brings forth the Master within.  Please join Diana Johnson, RScP, for a contemplative journey based on Christian D. Larson’s The Pathway of Roses.  This class will allow each participant to delve into the author’s more mystical writings, while at the same time, learning to apply Truth principles in all areas of life.  Because of its practical nature and its focus on the daily practice of Contemplative Meditation, this class will serve by boosting your success in any other class or activity you find yourself engaged in.  Students are asked to meet in the Sanctuary with a water bottle and journal and to wear comfortable clothing.  Don’t miss this opportunity to jump-start your growth and deepen your experience of the Divine.  Download PDF Flyer

The Power of Eight: Monthly Prayer Groups

The Power of Eight: Monthly Prayer Groups

  • Center for Spiritual Living, Redding (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

As Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote, “A prayer meeting should be the most exciting thing we could do. It should unleash all of the creative ability and imagination we have, because at a prayer meeting where people who believe get together, such a power ought to be such that an angel chorus would sing!” It’s true, there is a Power greater than we are. It is creative and responds to our beliefs, and especially to the intent of a group. Beginning in September, we invite you to join in a monthly prayer group, based on the scientific research in Lynne McTaggart’s book, The Power of Eight. Dr. Holmes knew, and now research proves, that when individuals in a group focus their intention together on a single goal, a powerful, dynamic energy emerges that can heal long-standing conditions, mend fractured relationships, and even rekindle a sense of purpose in one’s life. The monthly prayer groups will meet 11⁄2 to 2 hours, on a date and time to be determined by the host and the facilitator.

There are four opportunities for you to participate:
❖ Host a monthly prayer group of eight in your home (the eight includes yourself and a
facilitator)
❖ Facilitate a monthly group meeting (facilitator training in August)
❖ Coach and support those who facilitate group meetings (training in August)
❖ Sign up to be in a group of your choice (signups in August)
Interested in facilitating one of these powerful groups or being a coach to facilitators?

LAST DAY TO SIGN UP IS SUNDAY, JULY 15TH!  One and all are invited to join our Spiritual Family this summer for a retreat-style campout at Patrick’s Point State Park. Located 25 miles north of Eureka, Patrick’s Point is a park located in the heart of California’s coastal, redwood country. The park’s dense forests of spruce, hemlock, pine, fir and red alder stretch over the ocean headland with lovely, wildflower festooned meadows. A dramatic shoreline ranging from broad sandy beaches to sheer cliffs that rise high above the Pacific Ocean offers great opportunities to explore the tide pools, search for agates and driftwood, watch whales, sea lions and brilliant sunsets. The park offers several miles of hiking trails, a recreated Yurok Village and a native plant garden. During the three-day campout, there will be workshops for all ages, time to explore the beautiful park and coastline, group activities around the campfire and delicious, wholesome food. Camping has never been this much fun...or this easy. “I don’t camp,” you say? Find accommodations nearby and join us for the activities, food and fun. Reserve your spot now. Payment can be made in full, or in up to six monthly installments. Hosted by: Center for Spiritual Living, Redding – led by Chris and Diana Johnson. This is the second of a series of workshops we are presenting to the Sages of our  community.  The topic will explore how our relationships shift and change as we mature.  We explore the heart of our understanding of what it feels like as our “old” friends transition; what it is like to be in a different relationship with our health and stamina; how we deal with loneliness; what it is like to be treated “like an elder” and how we are treated by our family now.  Please join us!  Download the flyer.
