MINISTER’S MESSAGE
Love Is!
“The fundamental qualities of spiritual life
are to love, nourish, nurture, and heal.” --Maya Tiwari
This is my final message to you as your Senior Minister. It begins with love. Because that’s what it has all been about over the years. Every single person is on a journey of self-discovery. We each find our way by following our intuitive nature towards the curiosities in the world that cause us to question. Love leads the way every time. We might not call it love when we are in the middle of a life situation that causes us distress and frustration, but it is right there, calling us out of the fray. ‘Love prevails ‘is a motto that has guided me through the toughest situations. Over time you might have heard me repeat myself in our Sunday messages. Some of my favorites I would enjoy with you are, “God is Good…All the Time!”. “Peace Is”. And Cher Matthews with her usual response, “Love is All There Is!” became a mantra for many of us! It makes a difference to surrender to such universal wisdoms.
We have landed our vision for the highest good of the Center. Who wouldn’t celebrate such a manifestation? I applaud the ministerial search committee and their patience with me as I would waffle at times and want to control the outcome. I applaud all of you for your positivity and enthusiasm in staying with the process. There is so much big love in me for our Center: for the people, for what it stands for, for what we have all journeyed through together. It felt like it would break me every time I would officiate a celebration of life for a member or friend who passed on. Yet, love lifted us all through those sad times. We grew closer. We grew stronger. Equally, I have enjoyed the honor of officiating weddings of many and a few baby blessings along the way. All the while I have supported our mission statement ‘to empower people to live spiritually fulfilling lives’. I feel fiercely protective of our legacy in Shasta County. Though we have had many changes over the years, it has always been important to me that we honor the shoulders we stand upon. Think about how much love, devotion, and resources we have sowed into our beloved spiritual home over the decades. We are truly reaping the abundant Good. And there will be more good manifesting.
Rev. Lisa Carson brings a worldwide view to our Center. She is heart-centered and loyal to spiritual truth and the teachings of Ernest Holmes. Her kindness leads the way. She has fresh ideas and is eager to dedicate her time in ministry with us. It is a calling. A calling of Love. Rev. Lisa has also welcomed me to continue to be in service to the Center which says a lot about her big heart. I stand by her with full confidence that we have made the highest and best decision for our Center to thrive. Now I don’t have to say a hard goodbye which was a struggle I have tried to find the words for. And then there is Charlie, my love. This man walked me through it all and I have no words to express how deep our relationship is. Thank you all for lifting me up to more than I thought I could ever be. And I am still here….
With abundant love and gratitude to all, Rev. Sue MillerBorn

TRIVENI KRIYA MEDITATION
Three-Fold Mindfulness of Breath, Sound, and Mind

Daily Online from 7:00 to 7:15 a.m.
Thursdays Each Week (except on holidays)
9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the Meditation Pavilion
Donations Gratefully Accepted
Please Note: This used to be called Reality Retreat Meditation. In Sanatana Dharma, the ideal is always to be one with consciousness. The journey and purpose of life is to realize this ideal, through inner transformation, which is only possible through spiritual awareness. Our Master, His Holiness Sri Muralidhara Swamiji says, “Joy and sorrow are the only two known states of mind, as far as man is concerned. Divinity is to get past this dual state and be in a constant state of bliss”. Reality Retreat Meditation is one where we aim to retreat back to Reality (consciousness) through the constant repetition of the Divine Mahamantra – the sound from the Happiness plane. The unique changing pattern of the Mahamantra (Greatest Mantra), 6-3-2 cycle, naturally takes our vision inward. Constant and dedicated repetition guarantees mental strength, proven to lead to happiness. This meditation strives to inspire all in the path of inner excellence, and to realize that our happiness is in our control. It helps to improve attention, relieve stress, bring positivity, and face challenges with poise. Contact Nithya at (530) 355-8384 with questions.

More to come on the last Sunday of June…
This personal message from Rev. Sue MillerBorn is an invitation to join us in person if you can. If you have been gone for a while, it is time to stop by. June 28 marks my last official message as a Senior Minister. I have danced with the idea of retirement for several years and realized I needed to put a date down in order for it to manifest for the highest and best for all. I am walking with a heavy heart and a light heart, but it is time. A Good is unfolding in the transformation of the Center and this is what we want to celebrate together. There is a history of the Center that lives in the walls of my heart. The tender times and the best of times lead us to this celebration of our Center. Come celebrate with music and friendships that continue to lean on one another. Special guests are on their way. You are special too.
POTLUCK SUNDAY

AWAKENING TO ONENESS WITH LIFE MEDITATION
With Jill Matthews
Second and Fourth Thursdays of Each Month (except on holidays)
6:30 to 8:00 A.M. in the Meditation Pavilion
Suggested $10 Donation per Person
Join me as we awaken more deeply to life by learning and practicing meditation and mindfulness techniques. Open to vibrant presence as we release what no longer serves us, embrace the present moment through the breath, and raise our vibration by inviting gratitude and love more fully into our lives. The teachings I share are based upon the education I received during a two-year meditation and mindfulness certification training led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. These concepts and practices also come from several years of mediation with a local monk, from a broad variety of books, and from an array of spiritual leaders. I believe there is something meaningful and significant to learn from each experience in life and from opening to a variety of methods and belief systems. My desire is to share my enthusiasm for meditation, and for deepening a connection to All. Some of my goals for this group are that together we will create a sense of deep connection and community. That our meditation group will be a place where each participant will feel safe and accepted. Where there is no one right way, and where kindness and openness are always present. We will learn various tools that can assist in living with more peace and presence in our lives. Some topic examples are:
Dealing with difficult emotions
Accessing your Higher Self
Softening around stress
Present Moment Living
Confronting Fear
Finding answers
Mental Clarity
Grounding
Gratitude

HATHA YOGA
With Rev. Sue MillerBorn
Mondays and Wednesdays of Each Week (September through June)

Traditional Hatha Yoga is a holistic Yogic path, including disciplines, postures (asana), purification procedures (shatkriya), gestures (mudra), breathing (pranayama), and meditation. The Hatha Yoga predominantly practiced in the West consists of mostly asanas understood as physical exercises (postures). It is also recognized as a stress-reducing practice that attempts to balance body and mind. Asanas teach poise, balance, and strength, and are practiced to improve the body’s physical health, and to clear the mind in preparation for meditation. We will continue our usual schedule every Monday and Wednesday as we reenter a routine for our wellbeing. Zoom option will still be available. Please feel free to contact Rev. Sue MillerBorn at shantiananda@hotmail.com with any questions.
