CALLINGS: IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHENTIC LIFE
Workshop with Gregg Levoy
Sunday, January 27th
12:30 to 3:30 PM, in the Sanctuary
$25 per Person in Advance or $30 per Person at the Door

Gregg Levoy will speak at the 9:00 and 10:30 AM services on “Callings: Finding and Following an Authentic Life” and follow that with the “Callings: In Search of an Authentic Life” workshop. Callings are urgings from the deep self that tell us what it will take to make our lives literally “come true.” They point us toward awakenings, course-corrections and powerful authenticity. In this presentation, we’ll explore the psychological, spiritual and practical processes we encounter in listening and responding to our callings. The calls could be to make a career change or creative leap, take on a new role or let go of an old one, launch a new venture, or simply make a course-correction in your life or work. The central question we’ll tackle together is: What wants to emerge in your life right now? While honoring a calling’s essential mystery, we’ll also explore the questions that arise naturally in the presence of any call: What does it ask of us? How do we tell the true call from the siren-song? How do we handle our resistance to it? What happens when we say no? What happens when we say yes? Gregg Levoy is the author of the bestseller Callings: Finding and Following an Authentic Life (Random House)—rated among the “Top 20 Career Publications” by the Workforce Information Group—and Vital Signs: Discovering and Sustaining Your Passion for Life (Penguin). He has keynoted (twice) at the Unity Worldwide Ministries Conference, Smithsonian Institution, Environmental Protection Agency, National Conference on Positive Aging, Microsoft, American Counseling Association, National Career Development Association, and others. Bring a teddy bear donation to the Center from December 2nd to 16th. Let’s fill the front of the Sanctuary with cuddly bears! We will pour love into each bear during the Sunday services before delivering them to RPD.

The Power of Eight: Monthly Prayer Groups

The Power of Eight: Monthly Prayer Groups

  • Center for Spiritual Living, Redding (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

As Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote, “A prayer meeting should be the most exciting thing we could do. It should unleash all of the creative ability and imagination we have, because at a prayer meeting where people who believe get together, such a power ought to be such that an angel chorus would sing!” It’s true, there is a Power greater than we are. It is creative and responds to our beliefs, and especially to the intent of a group. Beginning in September, we invite you to join in a monthly prayer group, based on the scientific research in Lynne McTaggart’s book, The Power of Eight. Dr. Holmes knew, and now research proves, that when individuals in a group focus their intention together on a single goal, a powerful, dynamic energy emerges that can heal long-standing conditions, mend fractured relationships, and even rekindle a sense of purpose in one’s life. The monthly prayer groups will meet 11⁄2 to 2 hours, on a date and time to be determined by the host and the facilitator.

There are four opportunities for you to participate:
❖ Host a monthly prayer group of eight in your home (the eight includes yourself and a
facilitator)
❖ Facilitate a monthly group meeting (facilitator training in August)
❖ Coach and support those who facilitate group meetings (training in August)
❖ Sign up to be in a group of your choice (signups in August)
Interested in facilitating one of these powerful groups or being a coach to facilitators?
Interested in hosting a group in your home? Contact Rev. Mary in the office at 221-4849 or at
revmary49@gmail.com. Download PDF Flyer
